Axis Deer Hunt

The Axis Deer, also know as the “Chital Deer” or “Spotted Deer”, has three-pronged antlers that can grow to over three feet in length, several white spots, and a prominent white patch on the throat. This exotic species native to India and Sri Lanka is the most common exotic deer in Texas.

Axis venison is tender with a mild flavor. Judged as the best tasting wild game meat by The Exotic Wildlife Association, the Axis Deer is known as one of the best venison available.

Hunters can choose from a variety of hunting methods to make this the hunt of a lifetime!

Axis can be hunted year round, however we recommend May-September to have the greatest number of hard horn bucks.

As seen on Sportsman Channel’s Pigman: The Series, Heaven’s Doorstep offers some of the most exciting large Axis trophy hunts in Texas!

My Biggest Axis Buck to Date

I got myself a JUMBO head! The TC did the dirty on this giant axis buck, which was actually my biggest ever. Big deer, good people and great food…I am spoiled Pig Nation, you can be too.
